Panzer III crew

I still have quit a bit of work to do on the crew commander. I have forced the shadows on the lower half of the commander and gunner as these parts will be inside the vehicle when the figures are set in place.

1/48th scale Rommel

Working on Rommel to place in a small vignette with Greif. The Tamiya figure is only 5'3" tall, so I have added some styrene shims at his waist and boot tops to bring him up to a more reasonable scale height.

Greif Finished

I can't bring myself to do any more work on this for the moment. I will put a small vignette together at some point in the furure.

1/285 Panther G

Work in progress. Tracks, details and weathering still to be completed. Flash on the barrel looks bad in the pic, but the whole model isn,t much longer then 10mm, so it is hard to see in scale.

US Tank Crewman

An Elheim/TQD Castings figure purchased on-line from Battlescape. The set contained 5 relaxing WWII US Tankers in standing poses. I found that all of the figures were too short to be considered 1/72 scale and were awkwardly proportioned having legs that appeard to me to be too short. The figure above has been put through some surgery to have his legs lengthened by approximately 1 mm which is marginally annoying, but not a significant problem.

Given the difficulty in sourcing nicely sculped tank crewman in 1/72 scale in Australia I would have to say that the figures are good. It is a pity that Eureka Miniatures no longer manufacture the AB 1/76 scale figures under liscence.
